Hi! My name is Gene Hansen (Geno). My wife and I own the Traverse City Guitar Company. I started playing guitar in the summer of 1976. I have been working on guitars for 39 years now. I learned to repair guitars the hard way, on my own as most people did during that time. After my Air Force career, I was able to combine my love of guitars and woodworking, along with several other skills to start building my own line of instruments in the summer of 2009. I opened the store in the spring of 2014 and since have expanded my guitar building as well as becoming a certified repair center with Taylor Guitars, Fender, Guild, Cordoba and Ibanez guitars.

Sean is our Store Manager and Guitar Tech! He is a guitar and pedal genius! He attended Northwestern Michigan college to earn his Audio Technician certificate. Sean has been studying under Gene at TC Guitar Company for five years. He is Fender, Taylor, Gild, Cordoba, and Ibanez certified. Sean enjoys photography, playing the drums, songwriting and dad jokes. He loves hiking, an occasional cigar and singing love songs to his beautiful wife. 😉

Just like a great band manager, Patty wears many hats including being the Social Media Guru, Human Resource Manager, and co-owner of Traverse City Guitar Company with her husband Geno. While always having a love for music, her secret talent is as a baker.
